Each package contains 1 Consultation and weekly 30 minute sessions and will include personalized protocols and assignments for you and your dog to practice 3-4 times a week followed by our daily check ins, weekly re-assessments, & support with data tracking. I only take a few clients at a time to give the best support possible!

During our Consultation we go over everything about you and your dog’s current relationship with alone time, health, lifestyle, current needs, body language, and we will discuss our plan moving forward. After our consultation we have weekly 30 minute sessions to touch base on training and potentially train or re-assess our time goal.

What does training look like?

Each dog is different, however we still use the same method of Systematic Desensitization just beginning in different places. Systematic Desensitization is the method I use because it takes the scary thing (being alone) and breaks it down into much smaller more manageable pieces for your dog. This may mean we may work on protocols that help your dog feel comfortable before you even walk out of the door, or start at a certain time, it just depends on the individual dog and our assessment! Our goal with training is to only leave our dogs for as long as they are able to be comfortable and increasing just enough that they don’t notice, but not so slowly we don’t make any progress. Each training mission includes a few short warmups leading nicely into our target time that you will record & watch live so you can track how your dog is doing. After your mission, you can send any videos directly to me for observation and notes, and track your data to see your dog’s progress!

Is your teen dog bored alone?

You’ve put in all the hard work to be able to leave the house, and now you come back and your teen dog happily destroyed the couch? Its not necessarily anxiety since they are meeting a need. This guide written by a Certified Trainer & Separation Anxiety Specialist to help you meet all of your teen dog’s new needs and help them feel better alone. This 7 page guide includes how to set up a safe neutral space, meeting new needs, desensitizing to alone training, & shows how to build your own nap plans moving forward!

Please note that this is not intended for Separation Anxiety, but rather teen dogs who have new needs and may express them while you’re not there. Happily eating a couch to have fun and meet a need is much different from eating the couch from stress!
